Adjusting the Wearing Height:
The inner belt can be adjusted to change the wearing height of the helmet. To do this, move the fastenings of the
headband higher or lower, and set them with the support elements.
5. Service Life
The lifespan of the helmet is affected by various factors such as cold, heat, chemicals, sunlight, and improper use.
Excessive discoloration of the shell or weathering indicates a loss of strength.
The date and month of manufacture are stated in the helmet. Under normal operating conditions, the helmet should
provide appropriate protection for up to 3 years after its initial use. Excessive wear and abrasion can reduce the lifespan
of the helmet and its replacement parts.
Regular Inspection:
Inspect the helmet shell and its inner harness. If you find any signs of damage, major cracks and scratches, or if the
helmet or its harness shows signs of wear, the helmet should be thrown away. You should always replace the helmet
after a serious impact. The safety helmet should not be used even if no visible damage is apparent.
6. Hygiene and Maintenance
All protective headgear should be cleaned and inspected regularly. Cleaning and disinfection are especially important if
the wearer sweats excessively, or if several people wear the same headgear (although this is not recommended).
The helmet shell and inner belt can be cleaned and disinfected by using a cloth with lukewarm soapy water/detergent
such as a formalin solution (5%) or a sodium hypochlorite solution, and dried with a soft cloth. Replace sweatbands as
necessary. Do not use any solvents (cellulose diluting agents) or foaming or corrosive chemical products. Do not apply
any paints or stickers other than those that are recommended. Correct cleaning, care and handling of the safety helmet is
essential to ensure its full functionality. Materials that are used in the manufacture of these products, and which come into
contact with the wearer’s skin, can cause allergic reactions to sensitive persons.
7. Reissue of the Helmet
The helmet must not be issued to a different person unless the helmet was thoroughly disinfected and inspected
beforehand. At the very least, a new sweatband should be attached before the helmet is reissued.
8. Spare Parts and Accessories
Only use original spare parts and accessories from TOP-PROTECT. Accessories and/or replacement belts, chinstraps,
sweatbands, and face shields are available from the manufacturer together with the assembly instructions.
9. Disposal
Please observe the applicable regulations for recycling and disposal when disposing of defective devices. Plastic parts
are marked with corresponding icons.
10. Inspection/Maintenance/Repair
Comply with the specific provisions and deadlines for inspection/maintenance/repair.
