Eclipse Edge Configuration and Diagnostics
• If green-ticked it indicates a valid address range; if red-crossed, an invalid address
range.
2. Review and, if necessary, adjust the
IP address range
.
• The range would normally be set to start with the next IP address after the server
address (the IP address of the terminal). This is to provide a non-overlapping
range between any other LAN-connected and DHCP enabled Eclipse radios. A
green tick indicates a valid range setting.
Do not include the IP address of
the server in the address range
.
• Where two or more Eclipse devices are on the LAN
and
are DHCP enabled, ensure
the LAN address range for each device is non-overlapping.
• Valid examples for single terminals:
Eclipse Ethernet IP address: 192.168.0.1 (255.255.255.0)
First: 192.168.0.2
Last: 192.168.0.10
Eclipse Ethernet IP address: 10.16.11.1 (255.255.0.0)
First: 10.16.11.2
Last: 10.16.11.11
• Valid example for protected IDUs (both DHCP server enabled):
IDU 1 Eclipse Ethernet IP address: 192.168.0.1 (255.255.255.0)
First: 192.168.0.3
Last: 192.168.0.10
IDU2 Eclipse Ethernet IP address: 192.168.0.2 (255.255.255.0)
First: 192.168.0.11
Last: 192.168.0.20
3. Click

to commit the configuration.
XP4 Compatibility
The IP Addressing screen includes a check box to Enable XP4 Compatibility
(Reduced MTU). It must be selected where Eclipse NMS is to be transported over
intermediary XP4 terminals.
All Eclipse terminals on the network, those
upstream and downstream of the XP4 link(s) must be set for ‘Enable XP4
Compatibility’
.
• XP4 compatibility sets a reduced frame size (reduced MTU) on Eclipse NMS frames
to support transportation over the much lower speed XP4 NMI channel.
• It also enables a compressed data function on Portal PC Ethernet connections to an
Eclipse terminal in the network to help offset the reduced throughput (speed).
NOTE:
Where Eclipse radios are to be supported from an XP4 network care
must be taken with the routing, particularly the use of the XP4
broadcast setting at common XP4/Eclipse sites (LAN-interconnected
XP4 and Eclipse radios). Contact your Aviat Helpdesk for guidance.
