8.13.1
Registering DECT8048 handsets
Note:
The maximum number of devices is 4 handsets or 3 handsets and 1 alarm unit.
1. Press and hold the Paging button
t
on the base station for 6 seconds until two acoustic signals are issued.
Register the new handset on the base station within 90 seconds.
2. Press the
B
button on the handset.
3. Use
D
and
E
to select the REGISTER menu and confirm by pressing
B
.
4. Use
D
and
E
to select the REG BASE menu and confirm by pressing
B
.
5. Enter the number of the base station (1 - 4) using the digit keys. If the handset is already connected to a
base station, the corresponding number flashes.
6. Confirm your entry by pressing the
B
button. A search is then made for the base station.
7. When the base station is found, enter the base station PIN (default setting 0 0 0 0).
8. Confirm your entry by pressing the
B
button and an acoustic signal is issued after a few seconds. The
handset is now registered and can be used for internal and external calls.
9. The handset is then automatically assigned an internal call number. The main handset already registered
has the internal call number 1. The second handset registered is assigned the internal call number 2. This
internal call number appears in the display to the right of the name of the telephone.

Registering other DECT-GAP telephones on the base station
Note:
The maximum number of devices is 4 handsets or 3 handsets and 1 alarm unit.
In order to register a DECT-GAP handset, follow the instructions on registering a handset on the base station in the
operating manual provided by the external manufacturer. Then press the
t
button on the base station of the
DECT8048 until an acoustic signal is issued. Use the PIN code to register (default setting: 0 0 0 0).
8.13.3
Registering a handset on a DECT/GAP base station from another system or manufacturer
1. Prepare the base station
Follow the instructions under “Registering additional handsets” in the operating manual of the base station
to which you want to register your handset.
2. Registering the DECT8048 handset
Proceed as described above from Step 2 but use the PIN code of the base station you want to register on
(instead of 0 0 0 0).
8.13.4
Deregistering handsets
A handset can only be deregistered by another handset still registered. This means it is not possible to complete the
deregistration using the handset which is to be deregistered. The alarm unit can be deregistered using the handset.
