Exhaust flaps

3.1

Checking vacuum unit for exhaust flap

Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Hand vacuum pump - VAS 6213-

Procedure
– Disconnect hose at vacuum unit for exhaust flap on rear si‐

lencer.

– Connect hand vacuum pump to vacuum unit.
– Use hand vacuum pump to generate vacuum.
• The linkage should move upwards.
– Vent hand vacuum pump.
• Linkage should move downwards.
If the linkage does not move:
– Check linkage for ease of movement and check vacuum unit

for leaks.
