- The battery must not be discharged by more than 80% its nominal charge. (Density: 1.15).
- Do not unscrew the caps while charging.
- The battery must be charged in a clean and ventilated room to prevent risks of explosion and
where smoking is forbidden.
While charging, leave the battery access covers open .
- The battery produces hydrogen. Never project incandescent objects on the battery or do not
approach a flame close to the battery to prevent any risk of explosion.
5.9. BACKUP HYDRAULIC PLANT / SWITCH
5.9.1 ELECTRIC MOTOR OF THE PLANT
General
The electric motor, coupled with a hydraulic pump, is an open casing ventilated 12 volt motor. It
requires little maintenance. However, every 300 hours, and at least once per year, it must be
blown with air to remove impurities and carbon powder. It is an opportunity to check the wear
condition of all carbons.
CHANGING THE CARBONS
- NOTE-
On the motor pump unit, the four carbons must be changed simultaneously.
1- Remove the covers (if required, use a
flat blade screwdriver).
2- Unscrew the screws holding the
carbons.
3- Lift the spiral springs fastening the
contacts of the carbons and remove the
carbons. Change the carbons if their
length is below 10mm.
Apply the reverse procedure to refit the 4
new 4 carbons.
5.9.2 PLANT ELECTRIC SWITCH
GENERAL
The power switch is used to run the electric motor. It requires the
same maintenance as the motor. It must be blown regularly on the
level of the contacts. Check the surface condition of the fixed and
moving parts of the contacts. Change it if necessary.
