Chapter 12

The Firmware Upgrade Utility

Introduction

The purpose of the Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Utility is to provide an
automated process for upgrading all KN9008 / KN9016 switches in an
installation. The program comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade Package that
is specific for each device.

As new firmware versions become available, new firmware upgrade packages
are posted on our website. Check the website regularly to find the latest
information and packages.

Note:

1. The firmware upgrade described in this chapter refers to the KN9008

/ KN9016’s mainboard firmware.

2. Each time you perform this upgrade, you may also do a browser-

based upgrade to upgrade the icard firmware (see

page 71 for details).

Downloading the Firmware Upgrade Package

To download the firmware upgrade package:

1. From a computer that is not part of your KVM installation go to our

Website and choose the model name that relates to your device. A list of
available firmware upgrade packages appears.

2. Choose the firmware upgrade package that you wish to install (usually the

most recent) and download it to your computer.
