Burn-in Period
The first few times this fireplace is operated, there will be an odor from the curing of paint and the burning off of the
lubricants used in the manufacturing process. Depending on usage, the burn-in period may take a few hours or a few
days.
NOTE:
Ventilate the site during the burn-in period. The resulting odor and haze may set off a smoke detector. Do not
operate the blower during the burn-in period.
A white film may develop on the glass front during the first few fires as part of the burn-in period. The glass
should be kept clean during the burn-in period to prevent the film from baking on—making it very difficult to
remove (

Accessing the control compartment area and removal of the facade:
1.
Place your thumbs on lower section of facade pressing against the facade and holding the upper portion in place.

Lift up slowly until the bottom pulls away from fireplace. The facade should freely swing out toward you allowing
access to the control compartment. See
Figure 38A (2)

If you wish to remove the entire facade, swing the bottom of the facade out towards you and firmly grasp the sides
of the facade and lift off the top shoulder screws. Place Facade in safe area until it is ready for re-installation.

FACADE AND BARRIER SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO OPERATION OF THE FIREPLACE

Facade Removal
Installing the Firebox Liners
1.
Remove the firebox liner panels from the packing materials.
2.
Carefully position the rear panel, upper edge first, in the firebox against the rear wall.
3.
While holding the rear panel, carefully position the left side panel in the firebox.
4.
Carefully position the right side panel in the firebox.
NOTE:
Do not force the panels. Excessive force may cause breakage. If the panels are correctly positioned, they will
fit snugly in place.
5. (
Fiber Panels Only) Place the front “ember strip pieces” last.
NOTE:
If adequate space for the ember strips was not provided the grate can be adjusted by loosing the two
attachment screws and pulling the grate up then re-tightening the screws.
