Remote SMS control
Instead of using remote dial-in to control your panel, you can download the Yale GSM control
app to SMS your panel with control commands.
Downloading the app
Go to iOS app store or Google Play to search for
“Yale GSM control” phone app. The app will send an
SMS controlled message from your phone to your
alarm panel. Please check with your mobile provider
for SMS cost.
Note: This app may not work correctly on certain
GSM alarm models. Please use remote Dial-in
access instead (see Section 6).
Using the app
Upon launching the app, you can add your new
panel by pressing “+” on the upper right corner. You
will see this screen below:
Panel Name: Please give your panel a name
Panel SIM: The mobile number of your alarm panel
SIM card
PIN code: Your alarm panel PIN code
SMS Keyword: Default is PROG. You can change
this Keyword from the panel option: GSM setting ->
SMS Keyword
Once you have confirmed this setting, select the
panel and enter the main dashboard.
Please note that this app does not hold status
information of your alarm panel. The settings shown
on the app is the last command (or default), it is not
synchronised with the alarm system.
Arming and Disarming
Press the Arm, Home or Disarm button to change
your alarm mode. On an iOS phone it will brring
up an SMS screen of which you will need to press
“Send”. On an Android phone, the SMS is sent
automatically.
Once the arming mode has changed, you will
receive an SMS message from the panel as
confirmation.
