Differential Operation
Output Beacon Data to Serial Ports
You can output the beacon data to any of DG16 serial ports using the
$PASHS,BCN,OUT,d1,c1,s1
command where d1 is Beacon Channel (1 or 2),
c1 is receiver port (A or B or C), and s1 is ON or OFF.
You can specify the source(s) of differential corrections and how these
corrections are utilized. Use the
$PASHS,RTC,SLC
command to specify the
source(s) of corrections used in the navigation solution. You can choose
either a single or multiple sources of corrections: SBAS, Beacon and Serial
corrections (individually or in any combination/order). The default is a single
source of serial corrections.
Regardless of the source of differential corrections (beacon, serial, or SBAS
(full or partial) corrections), the DGPS position flag is set if any types of
differential corrections are used in the navigation solution.
Utilization of Differential Corrections
If you have chosen multiple sources of corrections to be used in the
navigation solution, you need to specify the method of utilization: Multi-Base
Processing, or Primary-Secondary Scenario. The default is Primary-
Secondary. Use the
$PASHS,RTC,SLC
command to list the sources in the
order of preference, separated by commas.
Primary-Secondary Scenario
The navigation solution always utilizes a single source of corrections. The
Primary-Secondary option has two modes: manual and automatic.
Manual Primary-Secondary
The first source in the list of corrections, specified in the
$PASHS,RTC,SLC
command, is used as the primary source of corrections and the remaining
sources listed are used as backup or ‘secondary sources in the order they are
listed. When the Primary source is not available, the DG16 switches to the
first secondary source available. Use the
$PASHS,RTC,SLC
command to set
the Primary and Secondary sources of corrections.
If the SBAS or beacon is set to Dual Mode, the corrections provided on
Channel 1 serve as Primary and Channel 2 serves as the Secondary set of
corrections.
