3. Observe the water temperature reading
on the Dial Thermometer (Fig 25-1) located
on the Transfer Pump Assembly.
4. At this point you must set up and fi ne tune the
Transfer Pump Assembly
The transfer pump is designed to transfer hot water
from the Flo-Direct
®
CTE instantaneous water
heater to the remote storage tank. To accomplish
this is a series of level controls within the Flo-Direct
®
CTE instantaneous water heater which are pro-
gramed to open and close a by-pass on the transfer
pump assembly.
The transfer pump assembly is sized based upon
information supplied to Armstrong when the order
was placed.
The transfer pump assembly is sized so that it has a
greater volume capability than the anticipated output of the Flo-Direct
®
CTE instantaneous water heater.
During operation the throttling valve (Figure 25-1) on the transfer pump assembly must be adjusted so that water
slowly rises in the lower canister of the Flo-Direct
®
CTE instantaneous water heater.
Once the water level in the lower canister rises to a point where the fl oat switch (#3) activates, the by-pass on the
transfer pump assembly will open automatically to increase the fl ow rate and lower the water level in the lower
canister.
Once the water level in the lower canister is reduced to a point where the lower fl oat switch (#2) deactivates, the
by-pass on the transfer pump assembly will close automatically.
When the water level in the lower canister slowly fl uctuates between
#2 and #3 fl oat switches without overfl owing or draining the canister
the transfer pump fl ow rate is correctly adjusted.
