Foot Brake Pedal (Main)
The foot brake must be maintained to be
fully functional.
1. Check the brake fluid level in the res-
ervoir. The fluid level must be main-
tained between the MAX and MIN
level marks. If the level in the reser-
voir is low, add DOT 4 brake fluid.
2. Press the foot brake pedal several
times to check for firmness.
3. If the pedal is not firm, the system
must be bled.
NOTE: Take the ATV to an autho-
rized Arctic Cat ATV dealer for this
service.

ing brake engages properly and that the
brake (when engaged) locks the wheels.

brake.
2. Attempt to push the ATV.

brake must lock the wheels. If it

Carefully inspect the hydraulic brake
hoses for cracks or other damage. If
found, take the ATV to an authorized

Brake Pads
The clearance between the brake pads

excessive wear. Check the thickness of
each of the brake pads as follows:
1. Remove a front wheel.
2. Measure the thickness of each brake
pad.
3. If thickness of either brake pad is
less than 1.0 mm (0.039 in.), take
the ATV to an authorized Arctic
Cat ATV dealer to have brake pads
replaced.
