Transporting the vehicle
When transporting, observe the following items:
●
Transport the vehicle in its normal driving position (on all four wheels).
●
Activate parking brake and engage a gear.
●
Protect all components subject to contact with the lashing straps against scratch-
ing. To do this, use e.g. adhesive tape or soft cloths.
●
Make sure that no components such as cables or brake lines are pinched.
●
Only use suitable lashing straps, which comply with the relevant legislation.
●
Tighten the lashing straps evenly.

Towing the vehicle
1. Switch on the hazard warning lights (observe national rules).
2. Move the gear lever to gear position N (Neutral).
3. Make sure that the hand brake and the parking brake are released.
NOTICE
Only applies to vehicles with T3b approval.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ignition is switched on; otherwise, low beam, rear lights,
and indicators will not be available. Do not tow the vehicle when the electri-
cal system has failed. When the engine is not running, there is no servo-
assistance. Thus, higher force is required to brake and steer.
ATTENTION
Do no exceed a speed of 30 km/h when towing. Do not tow the vehicle more
than 50 km.
NOTICE
In some countries, towing with a tow bar or tow rope is not permitted on pub-
lic roads. Familiarize yourself with the rules on towing in the respective coun-
try.
