Balancing the barrier / Commissioning
7.2 BALANCING
THE
BARRIER
In order to balance the barrier correctly, refer to the table
in
fi g.10
, which gives the correct barrier combinations and
indicates the suggested spring and loading strain for each
combination (
ref.H
).
Starting from this point the installer must check that the
barrier is balanced correctly and adjust it if necessary,
observing how it moves during the opening and closing
operations.
8. COMMISSIONING
1
. Open the mains switch.
2
. Open the side panel using the special key provided.
3
. Use the crank provided to operate the barrier, positioning
it approximately at its half-way point (refer to the paragraph
“
EMERGENCY OPERATION
”).
4
. Remove the crank from the motor spindle;
5
. Replace the panel.
n.b.: the panel must be closed; otherwise the safety
micro-switch inhibits the normal operation of the
barrier.
6
. Close the mains switch and check that the voltage on
the power supply terminals is correct.
7
. Set the selector switch on the electrical panel to manual
or semi-automatic (if present).
8
. Command the barrier to open and check that it starts to
move towards the open position; if it moves in the other
direction, disconnect the power supply before the barrier
can reach its limit switch and invert the connections to the
motor or the keypad, as required. Repeat the check.
9
. Check that the barrier stops in the desired position during
electrical operation. If not, it may be necessary to adjust it in
order to allow for any play that may have been introduced
