Appendix I. : User Guide for Ethernet Interface
Description:
RTP-3280 Receipt Thermal Printer is available in four interfaces and comes along in
following 4 versions :
1. RTP-3280 : USB+RS232, the sealed I/O board is irreplaceable.
2. RTP-3280X : USB+RS232, the I/O board is replaceable.
3. RTP-3280E : EUSB, the I/O board is replaceable.
4. RTP-3280P : Parellel, the I/O board is replaceable.
Since the usage of Ethernet interface is quite different from other interfaces, the
methods how to configure and utilize the Ethernet board are documented in the
paper. Please read it before use.
With Ethernet interface, the RPT-3280 is a network printer and can serve more than
one PC while on duty. Over the Ethernet, we implement the TCP/IP protocol to
transfer data and manage printer from PC which has the ability to browse the
internet with various browser such as IE from Microsoft, chrome from Google , Firefox
and so forth.
Installation
Before the RTP-3280 is able to work with network interface, both the hardware and
software are needed to be set up properly. The section details the installation on both
hardware and software.
Hardware
Please connect RTP-3280 with a RJ-45 Ethernet cable. While connecting, the LED on
the RJ-45 connector will blink. There is no other setting needed on the printer.
Software
Since the data transfer is via TCP/IP protocol, each RPT-3280 must possess an IP
address before working on the network. The default IP address is programmed as
following :
