Chapter 6 — Removal and Replacement Procedures

Main Power Supply, Auxiliary Power Supply or Regulator PCB

The main supply, auxiliary (standby) supply and voltage regulator PCBs are found under the power supply
cover as shown in

Figure 6-8

Preliminary

Remove the front handles, rear feet, and chassis covers as described in

Section 6-4

Main Power Supply

To remove the power supply:

On the power supply cover, remove the 4 screws closest to the corners.

Unplug the connectors from both ends of the main power supply.

Release the main power supply from the cover by removing the 4 screws.

To install the power supply assembly, reverse the removal process.

Auxiliary Power Supply

The auxiliary (standby) power supply is a small PCB mounted on the larger voltage regulator PCB.

Unplug the connectors from the auxiliary PCB.

Remove the 4 screws that secure the auxiliary power supply to the regulator PCB.

To install the auxiliary power supply assembly, reverse the removal process.

A3 Regulator PCB

To remove the regulator PCB:

Unplug all connectors.

Remove the 6 screws that secure the regulator PCB.

To install regulator PCB, reverse the removal process.

Refer to

Table 6-2 on page 6-3

for the adjustments and verifications needed after replacement.

Danger

Hazardous voltages are present inside the power supply assembly
whenever the AC line power is connected. Turn off the instrument and
remove the power line before proceeding with this section.

Note

The cover will feel heavy when lifted because the main power supply is mounted to the underside of
the cover.
