AMX TDS (Television Delivery System)
Recommendations for Installing DTV-TX02-DVB-S – Small
System With Quad LNB or Multiswitcher
Any system using a Quad LNB or using a Multiswitcher to distribute the IF signal will require LNB DC power
and possibly 22kHz tone to be injected onto the IF signal to switch the LNB or Multiswitch output.
The actual method for injecting these signals will depend on the complexity of the installation, for a complex
installation requiring access to both polarizations and both high and low bands a Quad specific Multiswitch
could be used to provide the required DC voltage and tone, simple splitters would then be required to ‘T’ off
the signal and feed into the distribution system shown in FIG. 97 on page 92. This solution is shown in FIG. 98
below.
An alternative to using a Quad Compatible Multiswitch for generating the DC Voltage and tone, is the ETL
Model 2772-xx-E range that provides switchable LNB power and tone injection. This 19in rack system
provides a more flexible system enabling the user to switch receivers between LNBs without changing the
installation.
