Chapter 1 General introduction
1.1 General work flow
The general work flow when working with Amberg Tunnel 2.0 - Tunnelscan consists of the
following steps:
1. Create a new project with the
New project wizard
. Please refer to the Amberg Tunnel 2.0
- Base manual for more details.
2. Input the design data of the project like tubes, sites, headings, axes, construction stages
with theoretical profiles and theoretical sections. Please refer to the Amberg Tunnel 2.0 -
Base manual for more details.
3. Import measurements to a construction stage through measurement data synchronisation
with
Amberg Navigator
or using import functionality in the
Measured point clouds
editor.
4. Create a analysis using the
New point cloud analysis wizard
.
5. Customize the
Analysis settings
to your needs.
6. Check the measured scan data and create graphical or tabular reports.
7. Import new measurements, analyse and create reports as the project continues.
1.2 Concepts
This chapter describes the most important concepts of Amberg Tunnel 2.0 - Tunnelscan. Fur-
ther basic concepts are explained in the chapter
Concepts
in the manual Amberg Tunnel 2.0
- Base.
1.2.1 Measurements and construction stages
In an Amberg Tunnel project, each heading has a
Measurements
node which handles vari-
ous types of measurement data. Measured point clouds are managed per construction stage,
allowing comparison between construction stages and easy filtering to keep the overview. In
the point clouds editor, all imported point clouds are stored, listed and displayed. The user can
check the imported point clouds and clean up the data if necessary.
1.2.2 Measurement source independence
Measurement data can be synchronized with Amberg Navigator Tablet enabling the user to
handle design data as well as measured data in Amberg Tunnel 2.0. For being independent
of the measurement source, also scan measurement data from other devices can be imported
with the flexible ASCII import wizard. Pointclouds available in other formats (e.g. ZFS, PTS,
FLS, PCD, LAS/LAZ) can be also imported to the
Point clouds editor
.
1.2.3 Analysis setup
When creating a new point cloud analysis, a wizard helps to configure the essential settings.
During this process, the user is asked to specify construction stages from which the design
data and the measurement data are used.
