Chapter

Maintenance

The Control Unit includes a lithium backup battery. If this battery runs out, settings in the memory will be

lost when the Main Switch of the Control Unit is turned off. To prevent this, purchase a new battery from

us and replace the battery under either of the following conditions:

•

Three years have passed since battery replacement

•

Within one week after the first indication of battery errors

Have the following items ready when replacing the lithium battery:

•

Lithium battery (new)

•

Phillips screwdriver

About 30 minutes before replacing the battery, turn on the Power switch of the Control Unit to

activate the battery.
This step is required to charge the internal power supply, which is used for data storage during

battery replacement. You may skip this step if the marker has already been in use for more than 30

minutes.

After normal marker shutdown, turn off the Control Unit Power switch and the breaker at the back

(main power supply) and remove the power cable from the input power supply connector.

After removing the power cable and wait

for five minutes, unscrew the four screws

on the top cover and the ten screws on

both side covers of the Control Unit.

Remove the cover by lifting it up.

12.6Backup Lithium Battery Replacement

Follow your local environmental regulations for battery disposal, as the lithium battery

contains potentially harmful substances.
