Troubleshooting
PROformance and Classic Gas with a conversion board, along with a 10 Pin and an 18 Pin connector
on the burner ignition module manufactured beginning 7/12/19:
No Combustion On A Call For Heat
• All GAS troubleshooting trees based on a 7-20 120V 1PH model running at “ECO” power setting unless otherwise noted.
• The gas pressure to the appliance should be tested first to ensure that the connected pressure falls between the minimum/maximum pressures
called out in the installation manual for the appliance.
Measure the gas supply to the oven. Is the pressure a
minimum of 5.5" of water column (" wc) for natural gas, or
9" wc for LP?
No
Correct the gas supply pressure prior to moving forward with
diagnostics. Gas supply pressure must be between 5.5" and
14" wc on natural gas and 9" and 14" wc on propane systems.
Yes
With the oven turned off, remove the hot surface ignitor
terminals from J2 and J6 on the conversion board, (208-415
voltage ovens remove the wires from the output terminals of
the HSI controller). Measure the ohm value of the ignitor at
room temperature. Is the ohm reading between 30 to 60 ohms?
No
Replace the ignitor if the ohm measurement is outside of the
30 to 60 ohm range at room temperature.
Yes
Turn power on to the oven, measure the AC voltage at the
conversion board connector J4 pins 12 and 4.
Is 120 (190-240) voltage present?
No
Reset the cavity high limit. Check that the connection at TB33
pin 2 is making good contact and has AC voltage.
Yes
Measure the AC voltage at pins 5 and 8 of the 10-pin connector
on the burner ignition module. Is AC voltage present?
No
Check all pin connections in connectors J4 and J3 on the
conversion board. If all connections are good and seated
properly, replace the conversion board.
Yes
Start a demand for heat. Measure AC voltage between pins
4 and 10 of connector J4 on the conversion board. Is AC
voltage present?
No
Measure AC voltage at the control board connector X01 pin
1. If voltage is present measure voltage at the control board
connector X02 pin 1 or 2 (floor ovens) while in a call for heat.
If voltage is not present at X02 pin 1 or 2 replace the control
board. If voltage is present at X02 pin 1 or 2, trace the wire to
the conversion board and repair or replace the open wire.
Yes
Measure AC voltage between pins 1 and 3 of connector J3 on
the conversion board. Is AC voltage present?
No
Check all pin connections in connectors J4 and J3 on the
conversion board. If all connections are good and seated
properly, replace the conversion board.
Yes
Measure AC voltage between pins 1 and 8 of the 10-pin
connector on the burner ignition module. Is AC voltage present?
No
Check all pin connections in the 10-pin connector. Check that
the connector is seated into the ignition module. If all of the
connections are good, replace the conversion board.
Yes
Measure AC voltage between pins 3 and 8 of the 10-pin
connector on the burner ignition module. Is AC voltage present?
No
• Check all pin connections in the 10-pin connector. Check
that the connector is seated into the ignition module. If all
of the connections are good, replace the ignition module.
Yes
Measure AC voltage between pins 3 and 8 of the J3
connector on the conversion board. Is AC voltage present?
No
Check all wiring for bad or loose connections between the
ignition module and the conversion board.
Yes
Measure AC voltage between terminals J2 and J6 (N test
point) on the conversion board? Is AC voltage present?
No
Check all connections between the 10-pin connector on the
ignition module and the conversion board. If all connections
are good, replace the conversion board
Yes
