Service manual AlphaCom PSTN2IP ML transceiver Rev. 1.6 10-09-2011 Page 25/65
For the AlphaCom PSTN2IP ML a total of 4 transceiver channels can be programmed. This is subdivided in
2 transceivers both with their own backup transceiver.
By selecting IP transceiver 1, the settings will be displayed for transceiver 1 including the backup
transceiver. When choosing for IP transceiver 2, the settings will be displayed for transceiver 2 including the
backup transceiver.
Transceiver 1 is always enabled. The other 3 transceiver channels can be enabled or disabled by selecting
„enabled‟ or „disabled‟ option.
The account number is a 4 digit number that is provided by the central station. Also the IP address and the
port number have to be supplied to you by the central station.
The
Local Port
is freely programmable. This setting are only important for the settings in the firewall in case
the programming has to be accessible from a remote site. UPD packages sent from the central station must
be forwarded by your firewall to the AlphaCom PSTN2IP ML when using remote access. Please be aware
that the 4 transceivers must use a different local port number!. The default settings are 8000, 8001 (back-up
transceiver 1), 8002 (transceiver 2) and 8003 (back-up transceiver 2).
The central station
Protocol
is determined by the central station.
The
Supervision Interval
is also called „polling interval‟. It defines how often control packages are sent from
the PSTN2IP to the central station. The supervision interval must be set according to the risk-class
determined for the specific installation. The central station has control over the minimum and maximum
polling values that can be entered. If a polling interval is programmed which does not comply with the
settings in the central station receiver equipment, the programmed value in the PSTN2IP ML will
automatically be changed to fit the central station receiver settings. Refer to the section „Settings according
to local requirements‟
The
Periodic Test Message
interval and code is used by the PSTN2IP to generate it‟s own test message. If a
Code (for example RP) is not programmed a test message will not be sent.
The configuration screen for transceiver 2 is identical to the settings used for transceiver 1.
