Wiring the MBM System
DANGER: The input line
MUST
have circuit breaker or fuse protection as
per the local electrical code. It is called the “Upstream Circuit Breaker” in
this manual (Figure 1.6.1). Before starting make sure the upstream circuit
breaker is off.
Before starting, make sure you have calculated the load’s size (Section 2.1).
Tools and Materials Required
•
Slotted screwdriver for wiring the terminal blocks.
•
10 to 14 AWG copper wire for input and output (as per the local electrical code).
Step 1: Wire the Novus 1800TP UPS
Wire the Novus 1800TP UPS as described in Section 2.2, “Wiring the ATS System” Step 1.
Step 2: Wire the Novus 1800TP to the MBM

Turn the MBM’s rotary switch to “Line/
Transfer.”

Turn off CB1.

Connect the “To UPS” terminal block to the
1800TP’s “AC Input” terminal block.

Connect the “From UPS” terminal block to
the 1800TP’s “AC Output” terminal block.
Go to Step 3
TIPS:
1) Torque MBP AC Input and Output terminal blocks to a
maximum of 7.0 lb-in (0.8 Nm).
2) Use between 10 to 14 AWG copper wire (As per the local
electrical code).
TIP:
Torque UPS AC Input and Output terminal
blocks to a maximum of 7.0 lb-in (0.8 Nm).
