SECTION 2: INSTALLATION
b.
AlarmOutput drop cable:
The camera supports one relay type alarm output. Connect the camera alarm output drop
cables to an alarm reporting device. See the Specifications section for interface requirements and the diagram below.
These connection use the ALARM_OUT1 and ALARM_COM1 wires.

The alarm output provides the relay output (no voltage). An external power supply is required when it connects to the
alarm device. With a DC power supply (left diagram), the input voltage must be no more than 30 Vdc, 1 A. For AC power
supply, the external relay must be used to prevent damages to the camera and avoid the risk of electric shock.
c.
Audio IN/OUT drop cables
: The camera Audio IN and OUT interface is provided on two drop cables with standard 3.5
mm audio style connectors. The input signal must be 2 ~ 2.4 Vp-p at 1 KΩ ± 10% input impedance. The audio output
provides a line level signal for an audio receiver (impedance 600 Ω). The IN and OUT connectors are identified by the label
d.
Network (LAN) cable
: Connect the network LAN drop cable to a router (switch) through an Ethernet drop cable with
an RJ-45 connector, or to an Alibi NVR. Protect the connection from moisture and other contamination, if necessary,
using the Weatherproof Ethernet Fitting is provided. Installation instructions for the fitting are included at the end of this
document.

The Network drop cable supports PoE and PoE+ powering. If the camera is powered through the network cable, the
power drop cable is usually not used.
WARNING
!
Failure of the Ethernet connector due to moisture or another contaminant is considered an installation error,
which voids the warranty. If installing this camera in a location such as an overhang, shop, garage, kitchen,
etc. where high humidity or dust is present, seal these connections adequately.
e.
12 Vdc Power in drop cable
: The power drop cable is used for 12 Vdc input to power the camera. The center post is
positive.
If the camera is powered with PoE/PoE+, applying power to the power drop cable is not necessary. In this configuration,
the power drop cable end should be sealed to protect it from moisture and other contaminants.
