Specifications
The following table lists OmniSwitch Stacking specifications.
Note.
After changing the chassis or module mode the switch must be rebooted.
Changing OS6850E Chassis Mode
OmniSwitch 6850E switches can be stacked with other OS6850E or OS6850 switches. The capabilities of
the OS6850E vary based on the mode as shown in the table below.
The following example shows how to change the mode of the OS6850E using the
stack set slot
command.
-> stack set slot 1 saved-mode OS6850
or
-> stack set slot 1 saved-mode OS6850E
Changing OS6850E Daughter Module Mode
The OmniSwitch daughter module can be set to either stacking or uplink mode. The mode must be set
according to the module installed and how the switch will be used.

- Allows stacking with OS6850 or OS6850E with CX4
module.
6850E
- Allows stacking with 6850E using either the CX4 or
SFP+ module.
Note
: If an OS6850/OS6850E is inserted into a stack with a mode different than the primary element,
the inserted switch will not join the stack and will be put into PASS-THROUGH mode.

CX4 -Allows stacking with 6850 or 6850E.
SFP+ - Allows stacking with OS6850E.
Uplink
CX4 - Not Supported.
SFP+ - Acts as uplink ports.
