ENGINE OIL
Use at high quality engine oils. Make selections
proper the following specifications with the diesel
engine lubrications oils. You can obtain high
performance from your engine in this way. You
can increase the service life of your engine and
lower your operating costs with regular
maintenances and engine oils with the correct
specifications.
Engine oil performance standards are
determined by some organizations and these
standards are also accepted by the engine
manufacturers. Use engine oils conforming to
API (American Petroleum Institution) Service
Category CI
–4 specifications minimum or better
in your engine. Also, look for SAE (Society of
Automotive Engineers) viscosity grade. Refer to
Figure 5 to select viscosity grade according to
ambient temperatures. Multi-grade oils like SAE
15W
–40 is recommended for using all year long.
BATTERY ASSEMBLY
Operate your generator set with battery with
proper current & powers. Operating safe and
long service life of your starter motor and
generator set depends on selecting a suitable
battery assembly capacity and performing
regular maintenances of your battery assembly.
See MAINTENANCE OF THE BATTERY AND
BATTERY CONNECTIONS (Page 5-3)
FIRE EXTINGUISHING INLET (FOR
GENERATORS WITH CABIN)
In case of a fire:
DO NOT open the noise isolation covers
of the generator set.
Stop operating of the generator if it is
possible. If possible, cover all spaces
that can take air inside that around voice
isolation cabin. Certainly turn off all other
running engines and devices, too.
Put in all of nozzle of fire extinguisher to
label on placed generator and interfere
the fire by spraying all of fire
extinguisher. Use the fire extinguisher by
passing from marked point on fire
extinguishing warning label that placed
generator sets with cabin when it is
necessary. ( Figure 6 )
:
Check whether the output hose of
the extinguisher to be used in a fire is
matching the marked hole in advance.
Extinguisher shall be gas type. Use multi-class
ABC extinguishers to respond against generator
fires. Class A fires are caused by ordinary
combustible material like wood and rags; Class B
fires are caused by quickly flammable and
combustible liquid and gas fuels; Class C fires
are caused by energized electrical equipment.
