water out through a thru-hull fitting near the water line on the
hull side. To start the pump manually, put the switch in the
“ON” position. A light in the helm indicates when the pump
is operating.
Note:
The bilge pumps will start automatically when
there is sufficient water in the bilge to activate the
float switch. The float switches are protected by
in-line fuses located near the automatic battery
switch and are always supplied current when the
batteries are connected.
Wiper
Activates the windshield wipers.
Nav Lights
Supplies 12-volt electrical current to the Run-Off-Nav switch
and the navigation lights.
Run-Off-Anchor
Selects the navigation running lights or the anchor light when
activated by the Nav Lights switch. Moving the switch in one
direction will activate the navigation lights. Moving the switch
in the opposite direction activates the anchor light.
Battery Parallel
The battery parallel switch is a momentary switch that pro-
vides additional starting power to the engine starters. When
activated, both port and starboard engine cranking batteries
are momentarily used to crank the engine. The switch must be
held continuously while cranking and the system will return
to nonparallel mode when released.
Trim Tabs
Supplies 12-volt electrical current to the trim tab switch.
Windlass Switch
Located in the helm. This switch controls the optional wind-
lass, which is mounted to the deck directly above the rope
locker. It is protected by a circuit breaker of the type and rat-
ing recommended by the windlass manufacturer.
Windlass Breaker
Located on the helm switch panel next to the windlass switch.
Move the switch “ON” to activate the windlass control switch
and move it to “OFF” whenever the windlass is not in use.
This breaker is provided to reduce the possibility of acciden-
tally activating the windlass and to protect the windlass switch
circuit.
Additional Switch Panels
Additional switch panels may be located in various locations
in the cabin and helm area of the boat. The following is a
description of switch panels that may be on your Albemarle
and the accessories they control:
Windlass Breaker
The windlass breaker is located on the helm near the throttle
controls. Push the breaker in to activate the windlass control
switch and pull it to return the breaker to “OFF” whenever the
windlass is not in use. This breaker is provided to reduce the
possibility of accidentally activating the windlass and protect
the primary circuit for the windlass. It is a heavy-duty breaker
that requires a firm push to be activated.
Trim Tab Switch
Located in the helm. This rocker switch controls the trim tab
planes located on the transom of the boat. A breaker/switch in
the helm panel protects and activates it. Please refer to the
Helm Control Systems chapter for detailed information on the
operation of the trim tab controls.
Engine Trim and Tilt Switches
Located in the helm. These switches are usually installed in
the engine control handles or on the helm console of jackshaft
powered boats. They control the trimming and tilting of the
outdrives. Please refer to Helm Control Systems chapter and
the engine owner’s manual for information regarding the proper
use of the tilt and trim switches.
Engine Synchronizer (Optional)
Activates the engine synchronizing system. When the system
is on, the synchronizer monitors the RPM of each engine and
automatically keeps them at the same RPM. When the system
is turned off, the unit has no effect on the normal manual throttle
operation. Please refer to Helm Control Systems chapter and
the synchronizer owner’s manual for information regarding
the operation of the synchronizer.
Neutra-Salt Flush System
The system has two momentary rocker switches located in the
helm, one switch for each engine that activates a solenoid valve
