Control of defrost in SELFDRIVE mode
(
CE
=1)
Defrosts in SELFDRIVE mode are not programmed, but rather the device evaluates the operation of the cold room
and manages defrosts depending on the needs of the installation.
If a drop in the performance of the cold room is detected due to formation of ice in the evaporator, defrost is
activated and it is supervised until its completion.
Using parameter
d30
, the defrost strategy is defined, a lower value allows less formation of frost in the evaporator,
while a higher value acts with lower frequency allowing more frost to accumulate in the evaporator.
As a rule, a more aggressive strategy provides the system with greater efficiency allowing more frost to accumulate.
Adapting the value of this parameter to the type of evaporator used and to the type of defrost configured
according to the following table is recommended:
Parameter
d31
allows establishing a time limit without making defrosts, if the cold room does not require defrosts
set it to 0, if the cold room can generate frost it is recommended to set a security time of between 2 and 7 days.
Parameter
d32
defines the maximum time permitted of the cold room without reaching the Set Point, after which
an emergency defrost starts to unlock the evaporator.
Parameter
d4
defines the final defrost temperature.
It is advisable to configure all the parameters relating to defrost since, in the event of a calibration or
operating error of the SELFDRIVE mode, the controller then temporarily regulates in standard mode.
