Failed condition:
0 sec - STB is turned ON
3 sec - STB, OPER, TIMER and FILTER are turned ON
When this test is completed, the MCU will proceed to next test automatically
h. EEPROM Write/Read/Verify Test:
The original EEPROM data is saved in the RAM buffer of the MCU. One complements of the
original data are written to the EEPROM as test patterns. After the test patterns have been
verified, the original EEPROM data is restored from the RAM buffer. The original data are
verified and the EEPROM test is completed.
The test result is reported by using the STB and FILTER LEDs.

EEP test failed
Note: This test is not destructive. All the original EEPROM data will be reserved unless the
EEPROM is not functional.
i. All tests are completed
The MCU will dead-loop in the Test Mode unless the jumper J1 (test) is removed. Then the
MCU will H/W reset itself and start to operate in normal operation mode.
12.13.5 Use ICOM to start the Self Test function:
It is possible for the user to use an ICOM unit to switch an operating A/C unit
To the same Self Test Mode described in Sect 16.1-16.4 regardless the setting of the jumper
J1.
To start the self-test function, just press the “Test Button” on the ICOM unit to send a “Self-
Test” command to the A/C unit. When the A/C receives the command, it will immediately turn
off all relays and start the self-test procedures as described in Sect 16.4.3-16.4.10.
The operation in the ICOM initiated Self-Test mode is the same as the normal Self-Test Mode,
which is started by using the jumper J1. The only difference is that, for the A/C to stay in the
ICOM Self-Test mode, the A/C must be able to receive new data (any command or dummy
data) from the ICOM unit every 10 sec. Otherwise, the A/C will reset itself and go back to
normal operating mode.
The ICOM unit will automatically send out dummy data to the A/C every 4 seconds in the
ICOM Self-Test mode, but it is still necessary for the user to keep the IR communication
channel unbroken for the ICOM Test Mode to operate properly.
