Make sure that all ports are firmly closed; seal all ports that are not
sealed with PTFE-tape, gaskets or o-rings with adhesive tape. Pack
airtight with a foil, add dehumidifying agent (e.g. granules) into the
packaging if necessary.
For commissioning after conservation make sure that all remains
of adhesive tape are removed from the ports.
Commission the side channel blower as described in the chapter
"Installation and Commissioning".
Installation
Please make sure that the integration of the machine is carried out
such that the essential safety requirements of the Machine
Directive are fulfilled.
For information on permissible operating conditions, please refer to
the chapter “Intended use” and the rating plate.
Mounting position an d space
The side channel blower can be operated with horizontal or vertical
gas flow. See picture below.
Installation of the side channel blower in the vertical
axle position with the motor facing downwards is not
permitted on the wall or on the ceiling.
When mounting the blower to the wall horizontally or
vertically with the motor facing upwards and when
mounting it to the ceiling, do not use elastomer
mounts and always ensure everything is properly fas-
tened. This installation position applies to:
- machines with assembled converter,
- multistage machines,
- multi-flow machines and
- machines in coupling design
is only possible after approval by your local AIRTECH
representative.
For horizontal installation on the floor, we recommend
using spring elements.
When installing on the floor in a vertical axis position
with the motor facing upwards, it is absolutely
necessary to use spring elements and to fix the
machine onto the surface!
Fasten the side channel blower at its location, use the existing hole
pattern.
In order to warrant a sufficient cooling there should be sufficient
clearance between the blower and nearby walls. The machine must
not be completely enclosed. Make sure that the
installation space
or location is vented such that a
sufficient cooling of the side
channel blower is warranted.
WARNING!
In case of non-compliance with the installation prerequisites,
particularly in case of insufficient cooling consists risk of
damage or destruction of the side channel blower and adjoining
plant components!
Risk of injury!
WARNING!
Danger of crush and cut injuries due to falling of an incorrectly
installed machine.
WARNING!
During operation the surface of the side channel blower may
reach temperatures of more than 70°C.
Risk of burns!
The side channel blower shall be protected against contact
during operation, it shall cool down prior to a required contact
or heat protection gloves shall be worn.
