Intended use
The side channel blower is intended for:
- the suction,
- the compression
of air and other dry (relative humidity max. 60 % at 40 °C), non-
aggressive, non-toxic and non-explosive gases. Formation of
condensate in the side channel blower is not permitted!
Using the machine in other areas than in those indicated on the
rating plate is only possible after approval by your local AIRTECH
representative.
The side channel blower is intended for the placement in a non-
potentially explosive environment.
The side channel blower is suitable for continuous operation, en-
sured that the housing can transmit heat to the environment
unobstructedly and a certain minimum gas transfer is warranted.
The machine may only be used within the limits defined in this
documentation. In particular, the sections on installation position
and clearance, operating instructions and electrical connection
should be observed.
If there is a risk that the side channel blower may be operated
against a closed inlet or outlet for more than a few seconds, a
vacuum or pressure relief valve, respectively, shall be provided.
The side channel blower is designed for operation under normal
conditions (p=1013,25 mbar; T= 15 °C). The operation of the side
channel
blower
with intake pressure deviating from the normal
conditions is only permitted after approval by
your local AIRTECH
representative
.
The operation of the side channel blowers outside the temperature
and pressure range indicated on the rating plate is prohibited, as it
may lead to impermissible temperature and pressure increases.
By means of process control and/or pressure relief valves it must
be made sure that the maximum allowed pressure will not be
exceeded. The highest permissible pressure at the gas outlet/
pressure side is calculated as follows:
normal pr max. pressure difference.
Binding data with regard to the allowed differential pressure are to
be read from the nameplate (value with negative sign ("-") for
vacuum operation, value without sign for pressure operation). The
data is valid for ambient temperatures up to 25 °C and location
altitudes up to 1000 m above sea level.
Higher ambient temperatures reduce the allowed differential pres-
sures by up to 10 percent from 40 °C. In case of placement in
altitudes beyond 1000 m above sea level the allowed differential
pressure shall be agreed upon with AIRTECH.
The maximum differential pressure and the limitation of ambient
temperature is stated on the nameplate.
Using the machine in

Transport
WARNING!
In case of non-compliance with the installation prerequisites,
particularly in case of insufficient cooling consists risk of
da-mage or destruction of the side channel blower and
adjoining plant components!

channel blower and adjoining plant components!

DANGER!
Conveying media with a higher density than air leads to an
increased thermal and mechanical load on the side channel
blower and is permissible only after prior consultation with
AIRTECH.
CAUTION!
The gas shall be free from vapours that would condensate
under the temperature and pressure conditions inside the side
channel blower. Condensation liquid in the compressor housing
may destroy the machine!
CAUTING!
Frequently switching the power on and off leads to increased
coil temperature. In case of doubt seek advice from your
AIRTECH representative!
WARNING!
Do not walk, stand or work under suspended loads.
CRUSHING AND CUTTING HAZARD!
Crush injuries and cutting of body parts caused by tipping or
falling loads.
