7. EXHAUST FUMES EVACUATION
Chimney should be made with the following materials:
- Vitreous enamelled steel on both sides,
- Aluminum,
- Stainless steel,
- Glazed stoneware
- Cast iron.
The use of plain or galvanized steel is prohibited.
The section of the conduit should be at least equal to that of the discharge duct of the unit.
The fume pipe must not pass through other main room than the one in which the unit is installed.
It is forbidden to install an actuator or shutter on the fume pipe.
Angles conduits, recommended below:
Ceiling type: Wall type:
IMPORTANT :
Never reduce the fumes pipe diameter or close the vents in the room. Openings for
combustion air must be carried out in accordance with technical standards.
The arrangements to support the chimney done by installer shall relieve the cabinet heater outlet
flue gas of all mechanical stresses. (i.e. mouth flue outlet cannot support the chimney). These
devices cannot be fixed on the structure of the generator which is not designed for this purpose.
8. DRAINING CONDENSATE WATER
Heating cabinet with option « Condensation » are delivered with a stainless steel condensate
water exhaust pipe, at the back of the unit. This pipe must be connected to a PVC pipe (never use
metal pipe for condensate water evacuation). PVC pipe diameter must be at least equal to the
heating cabinet stainless steel pipe.Place a siphon on this drain pipe.
-
Check that PVC pipe is postioned under the highest part of the siphon..
- Before the first start of the unit, feel the siphon with water. Thus, fumes will not go out
through this pipe.
- The condensate water draining pipe and siphon must be protected against freeze. If the
draining system is located outdoor, the pipe must be open in order to avoid that
development of a frost plug stop the draining. If condensate water draining is blocked (i.e.
because of frost), then heating cabinet can be seriously damaged.
-
The condensate water acidity from natural gas is 3,5-3,8 PH. According to local regulation it
can be required to treat this water in order to cancel aciudity. Then, use a neutralization kit.
