12. LIMITING PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING
In accordance with European Directive 90/396/EEC, Aircalo heating cabinets are equipped with
safety limiter against overheating.
A safety thermostat stops the gas supply in case of overheating situation.
NOTE
The heating cabinet is provided with a safety thermostat with manual reset. This thermostat acts if
the temperature of the air heated reach 95° C and if the limiter Airstat has not correctly worked
before. The safety thermostat switches off the burner.
Restarting the heating cabinet:
1) Find and delete the cause(s) of overheating
2) Unlock the thermostat (starting cycle will restart automatically).
13. AIR FLOW SETTING
- Make sure the fan rotates in the right direction. To do this, open the lower front panel of the unit
to access to the side of the fan (an arrow indicates the direction of rotation)
- Check with an ammeter clamp, if the intensity absorbed by the fan motor is consistent with the
intensity shown on the nameplate.
A thermal-magnetic circuit breaker protects the curve D power supply. Motor protection is done by
a PTO probe from overheating.
The current consumption varies depending on the resistance of the air distribution network.
- Check the cabinet heater air flow:
The fans is used to distribute the air, or by ducts, or directly. For ducted installations, we
recommend placing the discharge and / or suction anti-vibration flexible sleeves.
The generator could be controlled, for example, provided with a pressure of 200 Pa, when in fact
the system generating 100 Pa pressure drop. In this case, the fan air flow increases significantly,
the current consumption and therefore the motor may be damaged.
On the contrary, you should check that the network do not generate excessive pressure drop and
therefore, that the generator air flow remains at least equal to the nominal air flow. Indeed an
insufficient air flow can lead to improper cooling of the burning chamber and thus a more or less
quick deterioration of chamber background, and this cannot be detected by the safety thermostat.
