6.2.5 Detection of the rotational direction
If a new position controller is installed in an actuator, the direction of rotation
must be detected before the position controller can be programmed.
A detection of rotational direction is not required if actuators are shipped
complete with integrated position controller.
Before a detection of rotational direction can be carried out, the cams of
switches SL and SR must be set and the potentiometer must be adjusted!
1. Move the actuator to the approximate
center of the positioning range by
pressing button
L or R .

or
2. Switch off the mains voltage.
3. Press button SET .
4. Switch on the mains voltage while the
button is pressed.
► Actuator automatically moves
clockwise, thus detecting the rota-
tional direction.
5. Successful detection of rotational direc-
tion is confirmed by the blue LED flash-
ing 3 times.
6. Release button SET .
If the blue LED continues to flash while button SET is pressed, detection of
rotational direction failed.
If this is the case, repeat steps 1 to 6. Ensure that the actuator output shaft
and the potentiometer are positioned approximately in the center of the posi-
tioning range in step 1.
