5.3 BREAK-IN
Although there are no operational restrictions on the
Greens Roller when it is used for the first time, it is
recommended that the following mechanical items
be checked:
A. After operating for 1 hour:
1. Check alignment of chains and sprockets.
Align as required.
2. Check chain tension.
3. Torque all fasteners and hardware.
4. Check condition of drive bearings.
5. Check the rollers and rotating parts for
entangled material. Remove any entangled
material.
6. Check trailer tire pressure. Inflate as re -
quired.
7. Check engine fluid levels. Top up as re -
quired.
B. After operating for 5 and 10 hours:
1. Repeat steps 1 through 7 listed above.
(Section A).
2. Change engine oil.
3. Go to the normal servicing and mainte-
nance schedule as defined in the Mainte -
nance Section.
5.4 PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST
Efficient and safe operation of the AgriMetal Self-
Propelled Greens Roller requires that each operator
reads and understands the operating procedures
and all related safety precautions outlined in this
section. A pre-operation checklist is provided for
the operator. It is important for both personal safety
and for maintaining the machine in good mechanical
condition that this checklist be followed.
Before operating the Greens Roller and each time
thereafter, the following areas should be checked
off:
1. Lubricate the machine per the schedule outline
in the Maintenance Section.
2. Check the tension and alignment of the roller
drive chains. Align as required.
3. Check the rollers and rotating parts. Remove
any twine, wire or other material that has be-
come entangled.
4. Check that all bearings turn freely. Replace any
that are rough or seized.
5. Make sure that all guards and shields are in
place, secured and functioning as designed.
6. Check engine fluid levels. Top up as required.
