5   OPERATION

OPERATING SAFETY

AgriMetal  Self-Propelled  Greens  Rollers  are  de-

signed to efficiently roll over a grass-covered sur

-

face to keep it level and trim. It works well on most 

grass surfaces including golf course greens.

In addition to the design and configuration of 

equipment,  hazard  control  and  accident  pre-

vention  are  dependent  upon  the  awareness, 

concern, prudence and proper training of per-

sonnel  involved  in  the  operation,  transport, 

maintenance and storage of equipment. It is the 

responsibility of the owner or operator to read 

this manual and to train all other operators be-

fore they start working with the machine. 

Follow all safety instructions exactly. Safety is 

everyone's business. By following recommend-

ed procedures, a safe working environment is 

provided for the operator, bystanders and the 

area around the worksite. Untrained operators 

are not qualified to operate the machine.

Many features incorporated into this machine are 

the result of suggestions made by customers like 

you. Read this manual carefully to learn how to oper-

ate the machine safely and how to set it to provide 

maximum field efficiency. By following the operating 

instructions in conjunction with a good maintenance 

program,  your  Greens  Roller  will  provide  many 

years of trouble-free service. 

5.1   TO THE NEW OPERATOR OR OWNER

•  Read Operator's Manual before starting. Re

-

view safety instructions annually.

•  If a safety shield or guard is removed for any 

reason, it must be replaced before the machine 

is again operated. 

•  When  the  use  of  hand  tools  is  required  to 

perform  any  part  of  assembly,  installation, 

adjustment, maintaining, repairing, removal, or 

moving, be sure the tools used are designed 

and recommended by the tool manufacturer 

for that specific task.

•.  Always use two people to handle heavy, un

-

wieldy components during assembly, installa-

tion, removal or moving.

•  Never place any part of your body where it would 

be in danger if movement should occur during 

assembly, installation, operation, maintaining, 

repairing, removal or moving.

  Stop engine, place all controls in neutral, set 

park brake, remove ignition key and wait for all 

moving parts to stop before servicing, adjust-

ing, repairing or unplugging the machine.

  Do not climb on the machine or place hands 

in any opening when the engine is running.

  Do not smoke when refuelling.

  Do not exceed a safe transport speed.

  Secure access ramps before moving or trans-

porting machine.

•  Never use alcoholic beverages or drugs which 

can  hinder  alertness  or  coordination  while 

operating this equipment. Consult your doc-

tor about operating this machine while taking 

prescription medications.

•  Never allow children to operate or be around 

this machine.

•  Clear the work area of objects which might be 

picked up and snagged or entangled in the 

machine.

•  Keep hands, feet, hair, jewelry, and clothing 

away from all moving and/or rotating parts.
