What You Have to Do First

The ELSD has an on-board LAN communication interface.

Note the MAC (Media Access Control) address for further reference. The MAC 
or hardware address of the LAN interface is a worldwide unique identifier. No 
other network device will have the same hardware address. The MAC address 
can be found at detector start up (see 

“Configuration Using Instrument Front 

Panel”

on page 30).

Connect the instrument’s LAN interface to

•

the PC network card using a crossover network cable (point-to-point)
or

•

a hub switch using a standard LAN cable.
