OPERATION
Rolling Reels
The rolling reels main function is to level the soil and break clods. The reels will bring clods and residue to the
surface.
Rolling reel depth should not exceed 3" - 4". Do not operate deeper than the shanks.
Depth of operation is adjusted by changing the downward force of the reels. The rolling reel down pressure
springs can be set in three different positions to vary the downward force of the reel. This is the only
adjustment that should be made to the reels.
Extremely Important: The reel assemblies must be mounted so the reels throw the soil in the opposite
direction that the disc gangs throw the soil. This is to equalize the amount of soil thrown in a direction in order
to keep the field level. The arrow decals on the reels indicate the soil flow.
The center frame reel arrows should point to the center of the machine.
The wing frame reel arrows should point to the outside of the machine.
