“Mail”
Using this programme it is possible to manage your own email account.
In order to use it, the email server must be configured.
Configuring the email servier
!
To configure these parameters please contact your network administrator.
The first time the programme is opened the wizard installation guide automatically opens, then proceed as
follows:
1. First page “ Welcome to Sylpheed-Claws ” – press “ Forward ”;
2. Page “ About You ”: insert the personal data of your own email address
(e.g. – name: maiaxc / email address: maiaxc@aethra.com / organization: AE)
– to proceed press “ Forward ”;
3. Page “ Receiving mail ”: insert the data supplied by your IP provider,
(e.g. – Server type: POP3 / server address: sirmail.vnet.aethra.it / username: maia / password: 123456)
– press “ Forward ”;
4. Page “
Sending mail
”: insert data supplied by your IP provider,
(e.g. – SMTP server address: smtptop.albacom.net)
the “
Use authenticati
on” function is not essential,
– press “
Forward
”;
5. Page “ Security ”: if you want to use the safety protocol SSL, check the relative box;
– press “ Forward ”;
6. Page “ Configuration finished ”: to conclude the configuration and save it, press “ Save ”, the
email programme page will then open.
It is possible to modify an email account or create a new one from the “ Configuration ” menu.
