ANNEXE E: Application notes guide.

This index tries to give users guidance on selecting the most advisable application note in order
to connect two audiocodecs of Phoenix family, depending on its requirements and working
environment. Each application note describes the way to configure each of the audiocodecs.
When both ends are different (for instance, at one end there’s a Phoenix Mobile and at the other
end a Phoenix MERCURY), different application notes should be followed in order to configure
each one.

All notes are available in electronic format in the CD furnished with the unit.

E1. Internet connection using standard cable access.

Application note NA0A.

Phoenix MERCURY, Studio or Venus audiocodec directly connected to Internet by
means of a dedicated cable-Modem with DHCP. SIP call using AEQ SIP Proxy.

Application note NA0B.

Same case as NA0A, but adapted to Phoenix Mobile.

Application note NA0C.

Phoenix MERCURY, Studio or Venus audiocodec connected to a LAN (together with
other IP equipments), connected to Internet by means of a router with NAT that can be
configured (or we have access to the Network Manager). SIP call using AEQ SIP Proxy.

Application note NA0D.

Same case as NA0C, but adapted to Phoenix Mobile.

Same case as NA0C, but calling in SIP DIRECT but with no SIP Proxy involved.
