DS3 and Timing Provisioning Menu
The DS3 and Timing Provisioning menu (see Figure 23 ) is used to set parameters to govern the
network side of the DS3-PSM.

The DS3 and Timing Provisioning menu options are shown in Table 22 .

Option Description Function
1 Framing This option displays the “Framing Menu” on page 49.
2 Line Length (meters) This option is used to input or adjust the DS3 Line Length
as follows:
• A value from 0 to 254 for short lengths
• A value from 255 to 64000 for long lengths
Line Length represents the physical length of the DS3 coax
connecting to the network, and must be manually set.
This setting affects the strength of the Tx DS3 signal.
3 Primary Timing This option displays the “Primary Timing Menu” on page 50.
4 Secondary Timing This option displays the “Secondary Timing Menu” on
page 51.
