Function

Shelf 1, Slot 1

This option is used to input the shelf/slot number.

Configuration

This option is used to select a configuration. The options are 
as follows:

• Single Port Loopback: Each port of the access module 

being tested must be manually put in loopback. When 
this test is initiated the DS3-PSM creates a temporary 
PVC for each port on the access module and starts 
generating cells on those PVCs.

• Daisy Chain: This test creates multiple temporary PVCs 

that send the test pattern from the first port, through 
each port, to the last port and back again. The cells are 
checked and counted on each end and in both 
directions.

For this test, adjacent ports on the access modules 
must be connected to each other. For example, on a 4-
port access module, ports 1 and 2 should be connected 
to each other and ports 3 and 4 should be connected to 
each other.

Start New Test

This option is used to start a new test which displays 
statistics in real time. After this option is selected, the text 
dynamically changes to “stop test” and the options below are 
available.

Reset Counters

This option is used to reset the counters during a test.

Insert CRC Error

This option is used to insert CRC errors during a test.
