Installing the Hardware

This chapter describes how to install and set up the library hardware.

Preparing for installation

Before installing the library, complete the following preliminary steps.

Protect the library against ESD.

For rack-mount models, obtain a fork lift or at least 
four people. For standalone models, remove the side 
panels to access the handles.

application software are compatible with the library 
and the tape drives.
