4.1 RS-232 Converter
The RS-232 Converter is an RS-232 to RS485 interface converter that
operates in a similar fashion as a modem. It allows an RS-232 device to
transmit data over much longer distances than is normally possible. The
maximum distance from the connection at the dome to the Converter is 4,000
feet.

Javelin/Pelco Javelin JSC232/485
Kalatel KTD-312 computer interface
The PTZ domes are generally connected to RS-232 Port 2 and must be
configured using the Operator software.
