General System Maintenance Tasks
The following tasks can be performed by all users. You do not need to log in as the
System Administrator to perform these tasks.
General system maintenance tasks include:
1.
Clearing the print queue.
2.
Formatting floppy diskettes.
3.
Selecting the system default printer.
4.
Backing up files to diskette and restoring files from diskette to the hard disk.
The above tasks are performed using menus and icons that are available to all users
on the desktop.
Clearing The Print Queue
If printing is enabled during wafer characterization, multiple print jobs are spooled
to the system default printer. If you wish to cancel pending print jobs, you can clear
the print queue very easily.
To clear the print queue, use the following steps:
1.
From the desktop, double-click the Printer
icon.
2.
Highlight the print jobs you want to clear by clicking on them with the pointer.
3.
From the printer window, select the Job menu.
4.
Select Delete. Press OK in the dialog box.
5.
Close the Printer window by selecting Exit from the Job menu.
