Automatic standard selection
If, and only if, standards have been inserted into the instrument from an external
computer, the instrument can automatically select the standard “closest” to each
measurement. To enable automatic selection, you must first enter the standards from the
external computer, then enable automatic selection. Any measurement made when there
are no standards loaded from an external computer disables automatic selection. To
enable automatic selection follow the path:
READY-to-MEASURE
MODE to Pick
UP to Setup
MODE to Display Mode
UP to Auto Standard
MODE to AutoStandard On
MODE to Set Auto Standard On
Storing sample measurements
Each time a new sample is measured the instrument will attempt to store the
measurement result without losing any previously stored measurement. However, there
are two circumstances which can keep this from happening: First, the instrument may
simply run out of places to store new information. Second, the instrument may have
been set up to disable storage. You may wish to disable storage because you are using
the instrument as a data collection tool for a particular type of sample, and wish to
measure some other samples, without having the other sample data appear “in the
middle” of the data collected. If you are working in conjunction with a personal
computer, you would normally transfer the stored sample data from the

color meter into the computer, and have the computer remove or clear the stored
sample data.
Clearing stored sample measurements
Stored sample measurements can be cleared from the instrument’s front panel or by an
external computer. You may clear stored sample data on the instrument by following the
path:
READY-to-MEASURE
MODE to Pick
UP to Setup
MODE to Display Mode
UP to Clear Samples
The screen will display
