Interaction with the water heater controller is through an UIM Touch Display called the
User Interface Modele )UIM)
. This screen is
also referred to as the “desktop” or “desktop mene” .
While the water heater is operating, the user interface will display the UIM screen (if there are no active faults or warnings).
An example of this screen is shown below.
• The first temperature on this screen is the temperature of the water inside the tank.
• The second temperature on this screen is the Operating Set Point . The Operating Set Point is the temperature at which the water
heater will maintain the water inside the tank.
• The third line on the screen is a text description of the
Operational State
of the water heater. The operational state of the water
heater is also indicated graphically by status icons.

the text that appears directly above each button on the LCD screen.

ICOMM REMOTE MONITORING SYSTEM
This water heater is equipped with iCOMM connectivity hardware. iCOMM allows users to actively connect and manager a single water
heater or a fleet of water heaters right from the convenience of a tablet or smart phone without annual fees or subscriptions.
To utilize iCOMM simply download the A. O. Smith app from the Google Play or the IOS store. Once you have downloaded the app
simply create a profile and follow the instructions to connect your water heater. There are no fees, subscriptions or other charges
related to this service. iCOMM makes it easy to connect and manage your water heaters from across the room or across the world.
QR Code Access
Another option to access the app is by scanning the IOS or Android QR code below which will start the download. Ensure you complete
the registration process to get connected to the water heater. During registration you can customize where notifications should be sent
and personalize other features.
