Power through terminals
The base unit can be powered through the main input, via redundant terminals.
The main input of the base unit has an isolated DCDC converter that powers the two CPUs. In this way, maximum immunity
against over voltages present in the power lines is guaranteed.
Unlike the power supply for cartridges, the main input allows polarity reversal, that is, a negative voltage can be connected
to its terminals without problems.
Input power cartridge
Each cartridge is powered through 2 redundant terminals. The cartridge power inputs are equipped with reverse polarity
protection: in case of incorrect connection, the corresponding cartridge will not receive power
without causing damage to
the base unit or connected devices. They also have a transient voltage suppressor called TVS.
The power supply is individual for each cartridge, that is, each pair of connectors is isolated from the rest and from the
power supply of the base unit. No conversion is applied to the input voltage and there is no isolation between input and
output.
