Installation Guide LIGHTFALLS by 3M™ + Todd Bracher
Sconce
Before Energizing the Circuit
Ensure that the cabling is secure, the connections are tight and the length of cable between the Lightfalls fixture and power unit is within the maximum
for the gauge of wire used.
Component Replacement
The power unit may be serviced by an electrician. Replacement Lightfalls fixtures
and accessory kits can be ordered from 3M. For ordering information for full mount-
ing kits, please see the Lightfalls by 3M + Todd Bracher Specification Sheet or go to
www.3Marchitecturalmarkets.com.
Handling, Cleaning and Repairing
Handling
Handle the Lightfalls fixture with care. This assembly can be damaged if improperly or roughly handled. Keep the Product in its original packaging until
installation, and if feasible, transport the Product to the site in its original box.
Cleaning
If needed, use a mild, non-abrasive, water-based detergent solution to clean main reflectors. Plastic polishes may also be used.
DO NOT
use solvent-
based, ammonia-based cleaning solutions or glass cleaners. These may mar or discolor the transmissive lens. The flat secondary reflector plates may be
cleaned with glass cleaner. This same recommendation applies to the non-reflector side (acrylic), however, this side can be repaired of light scratches
using acrylic polishing compounds.
Repairing
Except for replacing the replaceable components,
DO NOT
attempt to repair the Lightfalls fixtures, which do not have user-serviceable parts.
Troubleshooting

Problem
Potential Cause
What to Do
LED does not illumi-
nate
LED driver does not have
AC input
Make sure light switch or other control relay is on and/or breaker is on.
Secondary side open circuit
Find and fix open connection. If the Output Voltage from the LED driver is 36V, but there is no light coming
from the LED, there is likely an open circuit. Make sure connectors are properly seated.
Secondary side short circuit
or reverse connection
Find and fix short circuit. If the Secondary LED wiring is shorted together or connected backwards, the LED
driver should read near 0V. The connector at the fixture can be forced in backwards. Make sure the connector
is in the keyed orientation.
LED driver does not have
>30 V DC output
If input AC is supplied but DC output voltage is not supplied, the LED driver needs to be replaced. Remove load
before measuring LED driver output, because a short on the secondary side can make the LED driver seem
broken.
LED driver 0–10V control
wiring shorted
Find and fix short.
LED does not dim
Control wiring open
Find and fix open.
Light does not illumi-
nate full fixture
A primary reflector is mis-
oriented by 90 degrees
Check all primary reflectors for correct orientation.
