Brakes
The brakes are used to control the speed and to brake the bike to a standstill.
V-brakes
Mechanical rim brakes known as V-brakes are installed on the front and rear wheels. With V-
brakes, the brake pads are pressed against the wheel rim from both sides via a cable to
brake the wheel. The brake pads are normally made of hard rubber and are subject to wear.
You operate the brakes via the brake levers mounted on the handlebars.
Brake pads (check adjustment)
CABLE GUARD
Is attached to the left brake arm
and connects the two arms so that
they move towards the wheel rim
when the brake lever is pulled.
BRAKE PAD ADJUSTING BOLT This
bolt attaches the brake pad to the
brake arm and can be loosened in
order to adjust the angle of the
brake pad
SPRING TENSION SCREW
Adjust the spring tension
for the brake arm. Turn in
clockwise direction to in-
crease the tension and in
anti-clockwise direction to
reduce the tension
BRAKE CABLE
Activates the brake arms
as soon as the brake lever
is pulled
CABLE LOCKING SCREW
This screw fixes the brake
cable. It can be loosened to
allow the distance be-
tween the brake arms and
the wheel rim to be ad-
justed.
BRAKE ARMS
Move inwards to press the
brake pads against the
rims of the wheel.
BRAKE PAD
