Temperature Monitoring Setup
To monitor temperature using the Propaq M unit, perform the following steps:
1. Select the temperature probe and apply it to the patient.
2.
Connect the temperature probe to the Propaq M unit.
3.
Configure Temperature alarms and settings (if the current Temperature alarms and settings
are not appropriate).
Selecting and Applying Temperature Probes
You should use only temperature probes that are approved for use with the Propaq M unit. See
Appendix B,
Accessories
for
a list of ZOLL-approved temperature probes. The use of other
probes that do not match the performance specifications of the ZOLL-approved probes may
produce incorrect temperature readings.
To apply the temperature probe to the patient, follow your organization’s standard procedures.
Always refer to probe manufacturer’s Directions for Use before using the probe.
Warning!
•
The application and use of metal-jacketed temperature probes that come in contact with
conductive objects or clinical personnel during electrocautery may cause burns at the point
of contact between the patient and the temperature probe.
•
To ensure safe and reliable operation including biocompatibility, use only ZOLL-approved
temperature probes.
Connecting the Temperature Probe
To connect the temperature probe, insert the probe’s 1/4” plug into one of the two connection
jacks on the side of the Propaq M unit.
