Antenna
If you will move around large areas or in hilly
terrain, it can be useful to bring a longer antenna in
your backpack (Part no. 47113). Often the standard
antenna is sufficient, so you should try that one
first.
Headset/Speaker mike
If you do not want to pick up the radio each time
you shall speak, you can attach a headset (Part no.
47103) or speaker mike (Part no. 47102). You will
then keep the radio in your pocket / belt, and use
the PTT on the headset / speaker mike for
transmission.
Ear Protector
If you use an ear protector, you can attach this to
your hunting radio. You will then need a radio cable.

DEFINITIONS
CTCSS
CTCSS (CTCSS = Continuous Tone Code Squelch
System) is a low frequency pilot tone working as a
filter. If you and your other hunting radio users are
using the same radio channel and the same
CTCSS one, you will avoid hearing other users on
this channel (not using the same CTCSS tone as
you). There are 39 different CTCSS tones covering
the frequency range 67 - 254 Hz.

onitor
The Monitor function is used to listen to weak
signals/ transmissions. When activated, the squelch
control is disabled, and noise and radio traffic is
heard in the loudspeaker.
Squelch
The squelch is used to prevent noise and other
unwanted signals from reaching
the
loudspeaker in
the radio. The squelch level can be set in 15 steps.
step 1 is the most sensitive, allowing weak signals
to reach the loudspeaker, while step 15 requires a
